Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Binge It is owned and operated by Middle Ground LLC ("we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Binge It mobile app for iOS and Android (the "App") and to our website, GetBingeIt.com (the "Site") — together, the "Services."
Information we collect
On the Site
If you join our email list on the Site, we collect your email address. That's the only personal information the Site collects. The Site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If you contact us through our support form, we collect the name (optional), email address, and message you submit so we can respond.
In the App
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your mobile phone number (used to send your one-time sign-in code by text message), your username and display name, and an optional profile photo.
- Content you create. Your ratings, written reviews, Top 3 lists, Next Binge list, comments, likes, and shares.
- Social connections. Who you follow and who follows you within the App.
- Contacts (only if you choose). If you use the "find friends" feature, the App asks your permission to access your device's contacts. We use contact information solely to help you find friends already on Binge It and to let you invite others. You can use the App without importing contacts.
- Device and usage information. Basic technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, and how you use the App's features, which helps us keep the Services working and improve them. If you enable push notifications, we collect a device token to deliver them.
How we use information
- To provide the Services — including displaying your reviews and lists to other users according to your profile settings, and showing you a feed of activity from people you follow.
- To sign you in securely. By entering your mobile phone number in the App, you expressly consent to receive text messages from us at that number, including your one-time sign-in codes and important messages about your account. These are service messages, not marketing texts. Message frequency varies with your use of the App, and standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
- To help you find and invite friends, if you choose to use those features.
- To send push notifications you've enabled (such as likes, comments, and new followers), which you can turn off anytime in your device settings.
- To keep the Services safe — including reviewing reported content and enforcing our Terms of Use.
- To understand how the Services are used so we can fix problems and improve features.
How information is shared
- With other users. Your profile, ratings, reviews, and lists are visible to other users based on your settings. Public profiles can be seen by anyone; private profiles are visible only to followers you approve.
- With service providers. We use trusted third parties to operate the Services — such as hosting, data storage, text message delivery, email delivery, and analytics providers — who process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Content databases. Title information in the App (posters, cover art, descriptions) comes from third-party providers such as TMDB, book databases, and podcast directories. Searching a title sends the search query to these providers, but not your personal information.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or Middle Ground LLC.
- Business transfers. If Middle Ground LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
Your choices and rights
- You can edit your profile information and manage your public/private setting in the App.
- You can turn push notifications off in your device settings.
- You can revoke contacts access at any time in your device settings.
- You can request access to, or deletion of, your account and personal information by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
- To be removed from our email list, contact us and we'll delete your address.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep it for legal purposes.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your data and use passwordless sign-in so there's no password to steal.
Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us. Users under 18 should use the Services with a parent or guardian's permission.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services evolve. We'll post the current version here with its "last updated" date, and for significant changes we'll provide notice in the App or by email.
